Looking back, I’m surprised I’ve never written a post about names especially considering how much time I spend picking out character names. Here we are, though, a guide to naming your character! Or at least, how I do it.
This year will mark NaNoWriMo number six. I don’t think, six years ago, that I thought I would still be doing this. But I don’t know what else I would be doing if I wasn’t doing NaNo.
NaNo is one of my favorite times of the year. November and December make up my two favorite months of the year and they just so happen come back to back. Now that it’s that time again (36 days!), I figured it might be time to go back, back, back in time! So let’s pull out all those old NaNos, six in total so far, and check out the opening paragraphs.
For those that don’t know, I recently quit my (very boring) job – I know, am I crazy? Quite possibly – and decided to become a full-time freelance writer.
What this means is that I have no fall-back. I have no day job to catch me if things don’t work out. I’ve never not had a fall-back in my life. I’m one of those people who likes to plan everything, from the next day to my vacation in six months. And I get upset when my plans don’t work out, but I suppose everyone does.
