My Year

This year was definitely not what I expected. As for my goals, I accomplished more than I expected though not as much as I would have liked.

If you recall, back in January, my friend and I came up with the Writer’s Claws. It was basically a list of writing goals to be accomplished within the year. Of those many goals, I accomplished two:

  1. Become a freelance writer
  2. Write 3 novels/screenplays

The list is small but the accomplishments are larger than they seem. For this next year, I’d like to grow my freelancing work, moving more from writing to editing and proof reading. That leaves more time for my own writing, and I really enjoy editing.

As for writing goals, I have plans to

  • write 3 novels
  • edit NaNo 2012
  • submit more short stories to publishers
  • read more books (haven’t picked a specific number yet)

There are a lot of things to do in the new year, and managing my time will be an important part of that. I’ve got to cut down the time I waste on the internet and focus instead.

How do your New Year’s writing goals look?
